Boutros Maghribi is an Arabic typeface (one weight-regular) used in all segments of the communication world of today by a range of end users, publishers, private users and OEMs.
This typeface concept was based on extensive research by Boutros group experts with to meet the Arabic market’s needs for Arabic typefaces for bilingual communication materials. It was created and designed by Mourad Boutros and Rana Abou Rjeily. The design is based on traditional bamboo calligraphy respecting Arabic calligraphic and cultural rules with the addition of all the features of Maghribi calligraphy so that the eye recognises it immediately as a Maghribi style typeface. The addition of linked straight lines to match the Latin baseline level is designed to achieve harmony when used along side a Latin equivalent typeface such as Garamond, Palatino and Times Roman as well as Helvetica, Futura and Frutiger.
