Custom Arabic Fonts

Over the years Boutros™ have designed a wide range of custom Arabic fonts for web print and broadcast media. As multinational companies expanded to Middle Eastern markets there was an increase in demand for bilingual typefaces and there were many cases where the Arabic font was designed to match an existing Latin.
Designing a corporate font in Arabic is a real challenge. We have to achieve harmony with the Latin and maintain a balance of weight, style, point size and legibility in order for the design to work with all the company’s communication materials. For example, in the case of the Mercedes-Benz custom Arabic typeface, we had to design a range of three weights taking into consideration the original Latin range, developed by the famous international type designer Professor Kurt Weidemann. As well as designing special corporate Arabic fonts for multinational companies we also work on commissions from local companies.
For example, we have designed custom Arabic fonts for a large number of local companies as well as supplying our fonts to software and hardware manufacturers. Over the years, we have supplied the following companies, either directly or through agencies, with custom and retail Arabic fonts, Arabic logotypes and/or corporate identity and branding: "Laha" magazine (Lebanon); Al Hayat newspaper (Lebanon); IBM (USA); Apple Computer (USA); Mercedes Benz (Germany); BBC Arabic (UK); Motorola (UK); MonoType (USA); Al Arabiya (UAE); MBC (UAE); ADACH (UAE); Abu Dhabi TV (UAE); Saudi TV (Saudi Arabia); Al Ikhbaria TV (Iraq); Al Rayyan TV (Qatar); Doha TV (Qatar); Asharqia TV (Iraq); Sharjah TV (UAE); Al Marai (Saudi Arabia); AlQuraishi (Saudi Arabia); Adobe Middle East (France); OKI (UK); Tektronix (UK); Epson (UK); Letraset (UK) and many, many others.
